“Workhouse Arts’ The Hunchback of Notre Dame should not be missed!

Helen Hayes Award Nomninations:

Outstanding Lead Performer in a Musical | Oustanding Ensemble in a Musical

"But the star of the show is Azaria Oglesby's Esmeralda, who stuns in her moments on stage. Oglesby's voice and charm are ethereal in this show, truly stealing every moment in her pleading for help for her people”

—  DMV Theatre Review

“I was never a fan of the song “God Help the Outcasts, but Azaria Oglesby has converted me. Her passionate Esmeralda who emanates intensely genuine vulnerability and resilience was truly stunning. An opportunity to hear her rendition of that song and all others whould not be missed.”

Unprofessional Opinion

“With Azaria Oglesby as the mesmerizing Esmeralda, the two made a playful pair with cheeky banter and fun flirtation.... There were many highlights to the musical, such as Oglesby’s Esmeralda divinely singing “God Help the Outcasts.”

ANASTASIA (Lily)

“The only shame to be had where Oglesby is concerned is that you don’t really get to encounter her character until the second act, but this woman knows how to make up for lost stage time and boy does she ever.

And the show-stopping jazz-belt that roars out of Azaria Oglesby during “Land of Yesterday” will have you literally having to pause and pick your jaw up off the floor.

A vocal sensation with attitude for miles, Oglesby is that shocking sensation that you had no idea you were missing when it comes to Anastasia.”

— Amanda N Gunther

THE MUSIC MAN (Alma Hix)

“Lori True’s Eulalie has a quartet all their own. Ethel Toffelmeier, Alma Hix, Maud Dunlop, and Mrs. Squires— played by Colleen Esposito, Azaria Oglesby, Deborah Carson, and Natalie Beller, respectively— and they are a real comedic scream. ”

— Amanda N Gunther

DREAMGIRLS (Lorrell)

"I was fortunate enough to see Linaé Bullock, Azaria Oglesby, and Tanea Johnson in the roles of Deena Jones, Lorrell Robinson, and Effie White, respectively. All three were perfectly cast for their roles, creating multi-faceted characters that you could sympathize with in one scene and detest in another. And, oh, the singing! All three women are incredibly good singers, both individually and as a group, with incredible harmonizing and strong solo performances.”

— Andra Abramson

"Oglesby’s face lit up when she performed, and her beautiful soprano and high energy helped to carry the show."

— Kristin Franco

THE WIZ (Dorothy)

"Azaria Oglesby (Dorothy) commanded the stage and the audience’s attention throughout the whole performance. Having a great amount of power in her voice helped her achieve this. One thing that I noticed was how committed she was throughout the whole thing, especially in the choreography. Never missing a beat, she danced in circles around some of the other actors, to her benefit and their deficit. Even while running throughout all of the Marion Burk Knott Fine Arts Center, she was able to stay  on beat and hit every note. Great job Azaria!”

— Garrett Keidel

BRING IT ON (Danielle)

“TYA has a new rising star in Azaria Oglesby, who plays Danielle in all performances. Already exuding stage confidence, smooth dance moves and a killer vocal delivery, she makes it easy to see why Danielle would be the coolest girl at Jackson High”

— John Harding
